Training in NH

Trained on Bear Notch rd. in New Hampshire today (2/12/12). Trail was groomed about 20 ft. wide. The place was packed with snowmobiles. But there was enough room for all of us. Over all it was a great place to train and we had a lot of fun.

There was another musher there with her siberians giving rides too. Our dogs head on passed well.

Welcome to my blog

I created this blog to share my experiences raising, training & racing sled dogs. I have been mushing all my life. My dad & mom began raising Siberians in 1995 & competed in sprint & 30 mile races. Today my family races in the Down East Sled Dog Club sprint races.

Me & my brothers race together in the 3 dog junior class (In sprint races). I have been racing in this class for about 4 years. Before that I raced in the 1 dog Junior class. I have been pretty successful and won the silver medal in the ISDRA (International Sled Dog Racing Association) 3 dog speed class.
Some of the dogs on my team are Jethro, Balder and Midnight. Our kennel name is Crooked River Kennel.
This will be my last year racing in the Junior class. Next year I will move up into the 4 dog class & start training a team for 30 mile races. I hope to race in the Iditarod someday.
